Changing Your Chat Agent's Information

Your Chat Agent's name & profile picture can be changed from your Dashboard as described below:

  1. Login to your Dashboard from the Thinking Chat® website.
  2. Expand the Automated Chat option from the left side bar and select the Chat Agent Information option.
  3. Edit the Agent's name, Company or Website URL by typing the information in the textboxes provided.

    Note: Information on this page is saved automatically.
  4. To update the agent's profile picture, simply drag and drop a picture anywhere on the screen or simply click the "Upload New Image" button.
  5. Publish your changes to make them live.

    Note: You must publish your changes to see the changes in the live agent on your website. If you wish to preview your changes, click the Preview Agent button on the top right of the Dashboard.

Integrating With Google Analytics

If your website already uses Google Analytics, you can automatically post events generated by Thinking Chat® to Google Analytics by simply enabling the Google Analytics integration from your Dashboard.

  1. Login to your Dashboard from the Thinking Chat® website.
  2. Expand the Automated Chat option from the left side bar and select the Chat Agent Information option.
  3. Enable the Google Analytics switch by clicking on it.
  4. Publish your changes to make them live.

    Note: You must publish your changes to see the changes in the live agent on your website. If you wish to preview your changes, click the Preview Agent button on the top right of the Dashboard.

Enabling & Disabling Your Agent

If you wish to disable your Thinking Chat® agent quickly, you can simply toggle the switch from your Dashboard.

  1. Login to your Dashboard from the Thinking Chat® website.
  2. Expand the Automated Chat option from the left side bar and select the Chat Agent Information option.
  3. Toggle the switch to enable or disable the agent.
  4. You do not need to publish your changes when enabling or disabling your agent.

    Note: Enabling or Disabling your agent does not require a publish. As soon as you enable or disable your agent the changes will be reflected instantly on your website.

Changing Your Chat Preferences

You can configure the look of your chat agent by modifying your chat preferences. Change themes, update the title bar of the chat window as well as configure the position of where your chat window is rendered directly from your Dashboard

  1. Login to your Dashboard from the Thinking Chat® website.
  2. Expand the Automated Chat option from the left side bar and select the Chat Preferences option.
  3. To select a new theme, simply choose from the dropdown menu.
  4. To edit the Chat Box Title simply type it into the text field provided.
  5. Use the Chat Window Position window to change the location of your chat window. The Left & Right buttons on the top configure where your chat window appears when it is in the minimized position. Similarly the Discrete and Center buttons indicate where chat window will appear when maximized.
  6. Publish your changes to make them live.

    Note: You must publish your changes to see the changes in the live agent on your website. If you wish to preview your changes, click the Preview Agent button on the top right of the Dashboard.

Getting Notified About New Leads

When Thinking Chat® captures a lead, we will send you an email with the lead's information as well as a transcript of the chat. To configure which emails should receive the notification, visit your Dashboard.

  1. Login to your Dashboard from the Thinking Chat® website.
  2. Expand the Automated Chat option from the left side bar and select the Chat Preferences option.
  3. Simply type in a new email in the Email Notifications box and press ENTER
  4. To remove an email, click on the next to the email address.
  5. Publish your changes to make them live.

    Note: You must publish your changes to see the changes in the live agent on your website. If you wish to preview your changes, click the Preview Agent button on the top right of the Dashboard.
